I decided to develop one idea based on the proverb 'Only an elephant can carry an elephant's load' and went with a very literal interpretation. I used gouache as I thought the boldness would suit the design. After speaking to George she mentioned editing some of the darker, harsher lines on the elephant's body and also changing the type to look more like the original hand drawn title, by adding the inner circles back in and changing the colour of the '12'.
I took forward the other design idea but felt like it wasn't going in an interesting direction, I think if I had worked more on a hand drawn idea and developed the faces more then I would have liked it, but time wise I put more effort into the elephant cover and developed that further for my final cover idea instead.
