PAST SELF PORTRAITS 

Above are examples of self portraits produced for a couple of different projects in 2nd year- the top one was for the newspaper module and the bottom two were influenced by Gemma Anderson for the research and major project module. 

The two above were created digitally by line drawing over a photograph and adding different textures and handprinted backgrounds. Possible good to use to reflect the use of both digital and hand painted media within my olio illustrations. 

The above portraits again were just quickly made by editing a gouache painting that I had done - using the sunburnt lady from here.

I then decided to do a more detailed portrait with gouache and tried to reflect ideas from my front cover into the background.

I think for me I would like for my portrait to be cohesive with all my Olio work, so I think this portrait would look especially good with my gouache mice and the elephant cover- but I expect my portrait could develop and eventually change as I decide what illustration to use in the final print of Olio. Also for the portrait above I just need to edit the right hand side because it's not a smooth edge.
